You see...this is EXACTLY why I do not trust doctors or the medical system as it stands.

This is not to say that all doctors are morons, or that they do not know their job, don't care, etc. I am quite sure that they are very knowledgable, intelligent and great people who only want to help.

However, I also must say that despite this, the doctors do not help the system as it stands, instead, they help and encourage it.

Pharmecutical companyes push out a LOT of drugs with the intent of making people "better". Some work better than others. Some do more than one job, but no one pill can take care of all problems either. And then there are the side-effects...
And of course, us lazy Americans don't want to work if we dont have to, especially if we are hurt.

The doctor knows this...and while he would prefer to issue some good pain killers and a lot of physical therepy, he will tell the patient what they want to hear: "here...take this pill". I have a strong feeling that Insurance companies, Pharmecutical companies and the like also strongly encourage this...

Will taking the pill help? ehh...perhaps. It will make the pain go away (which to most would mean that the problem is fixed anyway). There are side effects, which would, of course require a whole new slew of pills and such...so the cycle keeps on going.

I imagine that the doctor that pointed you in the right direction and actually TOLD you to do some physical therepy was generally unheard of because the companies that run the show (Insurance, Pharmecuticals, etc.) don't like him or the way he does buisness too much...

Truely a sad state of life and business when companies encourage means for people to stay sick, hurt and in pain just so they can make another buck.
