There has been a lot of rage, tears and way too much “idiot Edwards supporter” language going on. Yes, I would have liked it if he kept going but he has gone far and beyond what most of us do to push this democracy forward.
From some dusty piece of paper…

You know… I honestly wonder what has happened to some Republicans…hell, politicians in general. I mean, love him or hate him, Teddy Roosevelt had a lot of strong ideals and tended to back up what he said.
What happened to such individuals?
I guess I am on a bit of a stint for the guy based on some of the things I have been reading about our current way of doing things.
*sigh*

This is why I won’t criticize Edwards for trying, because he did try his best. I may not agree with him, but at least he tried and at least he showed that he gave a damn.
We really need more people like Kucinich and Edwards running things. Hell…we really need to get guys like Theodore Roosevelt ressurected and back in charge as well.

What does the end of poverty look like?
John Edwards concluded his Presidential campaign yesterday, but not before securing pledges from Obama and Clinton that they would make the ending of poverty central to their presidential campaigns.
Regardless the road we choose to take, be it a conservative path or a liberal one– at what point will we consider people out of poverty? Can somebody tell me. Not platitudes like “when every person is living in dignity and without fear” or some other claptrap. I can’t measure that, and unless we figure out how to achieve some communistic land of perfection, where everyone is robotically equal, we will always have different strata in society. The poor will always be with us.
So, please somebody tell me– What does the end of poverty look like?

Storm, my mouth is still hanging open after reading this one. Thank you (flies aside). You just said it all while using words from a distant but politically similar time. Talk about some perspective…
