As the most remote village in all of the Himalayas has already learned by now, Eliot Spitzer hired a female prostitute, maybe several.
And that is it.
I honestly never liked Spitzer and I thought he made a horrible Democrat. Now he even does sex scandals bad.
No, when Democrats are involved in sex scandals, they should not be protected by the Party. The same goes for the GOP. What is good for Mark Foley is good for Eliot Spitzer. But where Foley’s antics were outrageous, even for a Republican, Spitzer’s behavior, while tragic for his family and shows the smallness of his character, is just plain lousy as a scandal. His family is who I really feel sorry for, especially his wife who stood by him at the podium. I hope the reason she was standing so close is because she only had a 1 foot cattle prod.
Where are the teenage enema nurses in bondage we have all grown to expect in a sex scandal? If floozies in bed is all we can get out of him, then Spitzer is spineless.
Next time I see Bob Dole, I will need to ask him if Viagra works on the spine, clearly Spitzer could use some stiffening there.

Actually, I was a little surprised to find out that Spitzer was a Democrat – I mean, I had never even heard of the guy until now.
…even still, I expected it to be something creepy that one would only expect to see in the worst of the ‘Triple X’ films.
I was pretty disappointed when all it turned out to be was simply a guy, cheating on his wife with a prostitute. I mean, as far as infidelity goes, that is actually pretty normal. By normal, I mean what most men would do.
Frankly, I don’t really consider this much of a scandal. I mean, I don’t even think it is very newsworthy other than the fact that this guy was apparently hard and unrelenting on various moral issues.
And as far as corruption in office and doing stuff like this goes, if the worst that you can say about the whole thing is “the hypocrite overpaid for a prostitute for tame, fairly normal sex”, then I will have to say that says something about the character of the Democratic Party.
I mean, Spitzer’s actions I just go “meh…ok, it happens. Big deal”. For your general GOP scandal I go “Good GOD! What has been seen cannot be unseen!”. The way I figure it, if such things were impossible to remove, I would rather have the former over the latter in my officials.

To be fair, Spitzer didn’t just get stung on a single incident. Apparently he has a long standing and consistent history of gross hypocrisy, to the tune of perhaps $80,000 with just that one outcall “consulting service”, if not others.

Spitzer, identified by law enforcement officials as “Client-9″ in an FBI affidavit, was captured on a wiretap arranging a Feb. 13 tryst with a prostitute named Kristen. In a separate taped call immediately after the rendezvous, Kristen told a booking agent at the escort service that she collected $4,300 from the client, the affidavit said.
But two law enforcement officials told the Associates Press that Spitzer spent far more over an extended period of time. One of the officials said the figure was, at a minimum, tens of thousands of dollars. The other official said the governor may have dropped as much as $80,000 on the New Jersey-based agency, Emperors Club VIP.

The payment trail led to QAT Consulting Group, a shell company that the call-girl ring’s New Jersey organizers used to collect and process payments, the newspaper said. The IRS ultimately referred the probe to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
The financial detective work was the kind of investigation Spitzer used all the time as New York’s attorney general. Over eight years, he went after corporate malfeasance with zeal. He also followed the money in busting a call-girl ring, locking up 18 people on corruption, money-laundering and prostitution charges.
