I have been reading some stuff on John Adams of late – always been a fan of his, especially his work on the Treaty of Tripoli. After a spot of reading I switched on the news last night and it was then I saw just how apparent the race between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton is a black and white issue. I am not talking about skin color here, I am talking about their ability to communicate what the American spirit is. Their ideas, their goals for all of us.
Hillary’s remarks over the years have been very me specific whereas Barack’s message is about us, you know, We The People.
I am not saying “yes we can” rises to the level of “We The People” in cultural significance, but I do believe John Adams was a “we” kind of guy. I think he would have resonated with “hope” in all of its audaciousness as it took a bucket of hope to build the American experiment.
I wonder if Hillary has hope?
John Adams??? A “we” guy??? This would be the same John Adams who had the Sedition Act passed, under which some 25 men, most of them journalists supporting Thomas Jefferson, were arrested and charged?
I’ll grant you, Adams had many redeeming qualities, but he was a fierce partisan who did not tolerate dissent.

And, read all across the globe; to a world American soldiers are trying to LIBERATE! How odd.
Not so fast…strip the Republican vote from Hillary in Ol’ Miss (Limbaugh BS) and you may find Obama won the ‘white’ Dem vote.
The 91% Black vote for Obama? An arithmetic quirk; there’s always a damn fool in the bunch. One must admit Hillary is a bore and Bill has lost a step (if not his mind). Black voters are ‘loyalist’ to the Dem Party…Winner/Loser…Obama wins…where’s the issue?
A White voter in the US can still rise through the ranks of corporate America without ever having an informal 10 minute conversation with a Black person, in their lifetime. That in essence dampens an ability to know or understand diverse individuals. Black people are not so limited. Black people are uniquely required to network with, know and understand a white/diverse society for the purpose of survival and advancement. After voting for ‘white folk’ throughout the ages and assessing the character of the ‘raw’ Clintons vs that of Obama’s who can be shocked with African Americans voting as a consensus; Hillary gets no credit at all. Do these Whites have this ability to discern black vs white?
Millions of ‘white’ adults in decision-making positions silently must admit to themselves, in their private insular worlds, they are stuck on childhood exposure and conditioning. Their minds have been segregated by time’s events; and ‘white’ women over 40, have probably been the most insular voting block in America. They have never, like their brothers, depended upon a black as a teammate; depended upon a black in war or dangerous times and have been forbidden to associate with black men, en Toto. So, the BS of the Geraldine Ferraro’s of the world is of little assistance to the electorate.
Forget, Eliot Spitzer, White women over 45, have sought to ‘pimp’ the Democratic Party, Black people in particular, for selfish and racist purposes…and the electorate sees this.
There is no Hope for Hillary!
As Cemlo smartly asserts, Obama is far and away, light years beyond Hillary Clinton, when it comes to vision, comprehension of the diversity in life, creative thinking, ease in the world
and calmness of mind.
Obama, as any Black will tell you, has had to navigate through a maze, a miasma of messages and contradictions, in all his American life experience. To be diverse in awareness, understanding and approach is Obama’s reality; he can be hopeful, and competently lead with fath and courage.
Hillary, on the other hand, comes from the insular white woman’s world (+45 years), and again it has been given, that Hillary and her sisters have no comprehension, as to what is a diverse reality.
For Hillary, everything has to be in black or white, and any mature, intelligent and seasoned person knows, that this is a very narrow and foolish way, in trying to navigate through life and its challenges.
Hillary is a tummel visioned manager; Obama, an open eyed leader. America, which is it you want, at this most crucial time, in oue nation’s history?

Hillary is on a “if I can’t win, no Democrat will win” suicide mission. If and when she succeeds and McCain wins, Howard Dean will be unemployed. There is no excuse for a Republican to beat any non-republican in this election. GWB has done his dead level best to destroy this country for the last 7 years. If the Democratic nominee loses, it will be because he or she was destroyed from the inner party campaign. HRC’s “scorched earth” is going to destroy the Democrats hopes once again.
