We can all fantasize, can’t we, about Rove being fired? But maybe, just maybe the alternative is better – in a sick and twisted sort of way.
Just take a peek at this well reported jab from a post election news conference…
Bush took a good-natured jab at his political guru on Wednesday at a White House news conference while Rove looked on. Asked by a reporter who was ahead in a competition between the president and Rove over who could read more books, Bush said: “I’m losing. I obviously was working harder on the campaign than he was.”
Bush is rumored to enjoy raking staffers over the coals. With insults, innuendo and tantrums, what could Rove be going through? And how long will it continue? Bush’s temperament will continue to be on the downside probably until he gets that whole Iraq war, stalking Chinese sub, Iranian plutonium, election disaster thing worked out.
Which will be like never.
As former Texas Republican Party Chairman Tom Pauken said, “The Rove era is over.”
And I am all broken up about it – broke out all over with a case of the giggles.
