“Barack The Magic Negro” Plays on Rush. And he is still on the air?

4-24-07.png

This is a head-shaker. Imus gets canned for calling some college women basketball players “nappy-headed hos” and yet Rush Limbaugh plays “Barack The Magic Negro” on his show and he is still on the air?

How is that even possible?

To hear the song yourself, hit this YouTube link.

It is a parody by Paul Shanklin impersonating Al Sharpton and based on the Peter, Paul, and Mary hit song “Puff, the Magic Dragon”. I am really at a loss of words. I heard it for the first time yesterday on the radio and was sickened.

Again, how is this man on the air?

  • “Barack The Magic Negro” Plays on Rush. And he is still on the air?…

Rush Limbaugh keeps playing a song called Barack The Magic Negro and claims it isn’t racist. I don’t listen to talk radio but is it full of this stuff?…

  • [...] To keep America the great, free nation it is we as a society have to endure this sort of rubbish; but there’s also no reason (as with Don Imus) why we can’t call conservatives out for it to show our fellow Americans just how disgusting Rush and his ilk’s trash is. (Hat tip: Town Called Dobson.) [...]

  • [...] You know what’s classy? Magic Negro Political Candidates! This certain goodness was done by Rush Limbaugh himself, no stranger to racial controversy (remember him getting kicked off of ESPN’s pregame football show for saying Donovan McNabb was only a good ‘black’ quarberback?). Well, guess what! Rush Limbaugh the magic dopeman / hillbilly charmer that enthralls millions upon millions of unwashed Middle State caucasians with many a story of delusional tales of liberal wrong doing is back with more fun. Now, of course, it’s this latest episode — Barack Obama the Magic Negro sung by ‘Al Sharpton’ to the tune of Puff the Magic Dragon. What wonderful timing too! Especially just a couple of weeks after the whole nappy headed hos controversy (which was less magical and more negroe-y). I wonder if Al Sharpton / Jesse Jackson have washed the blood off of Imus’ noose yet?? [...]

If you Listened to the show you would know it is a parody on some things liberals are saying.

  • I listen to the show and have since the late 90′s. To simply brush this off as just parody is idiotic. Just because something is parody does not mean it can’t be racist.

“Barack the Magic Negro” is may be parody, but it IS racist. Totally racist and so is Rush Limbaugh.

I think it’s hilarious! The Lyrics are quots from ‘reliable sources’. Come on, let’s relax and have a little fun. Even Barack Obama pointed out it’s just poking fun at some of the absurd things people say about one another in the media.
If you’ This is no more racist than the American Negro College Fund, or the NAACP. Let’s take a look at all the imigrants to the USA. Those that get their income by promoting anothers misfortunes is a Carpet Bagger of the biggest kind. Each person should take responsibility and forget about blaming a tragedy that occured to their family 150 years ago for their failure to succeed today.
Get a life and enjoy it.

The term ‘Magic Negro,’ as applied to Barack Obama has been done by an L.A. Times columnist, David Ehrenstein. This column appeared on 19 March 2007, weeks before the parody by Paul Shanklin was played on Rush’s show. The gist of the article in the L.A. Times was that Barack Obama was a token black candidate, useful for nothing more than to assauge white guilt. Rush pointed out in his show that this attitude is typical of the hypocritical left-leaning press. Remember the “clean, articulate, bright” description of Barack by Joe Biden? The song points out that Al Sharpton claims Barack lacks street cred- he isn’t “black enough”.

  • I really hope to God that you do not get your sense of a moral compass from the media. Just because someone does something idiotic or says something idiotic doesn’t mean you should.

I think this goes to show how weak Rush has become over the past 10-15 years. Now he hides and trembles behind the LA Times, he used to have more spine than that.

    Flaccid in so many ways…

The US is not a communist country,(although it is starting to feel like it), this is one of the freedoms that we have, (just like when some comedian makes fun of conservatives) I listened to it and thought it was funny. I hope everyone knows by now the parody was taken from a story ran by the LA TIMES entitled “Obama the magic negro”. How many times have we all heard some joke about BUSH. I mean come on, they are funny. The song is not racist. Where is it racist? I think there is a small group of Negros in the US that are racist (as Barack surely is)and I think that they forget that there was a lot of people who died and/or was wounded in a civil war in this country so that they could live as free citizens. I dont think they even realize that they are the racist ones. Could anyone even imagine if we had a college fund called the “White College fund”. yet, we have the “Negro College Fund. Or what if we had an all white college?would that fly? I personally do not care if African-Americans have their own special groups, etc. This is America! We have all these freedoms & should be able to express ourselves. So laugh.

This country really cracks me up, nothing but a bunch of bigots. If you get down to it, Obama is a Negro. You may not like the word, but its the truth. Why is it alright for black people, yes, I’m using the word black because you aren’t African, to make jokes on Bush, and every other white person, but when we do it, it’s wrong. Help me out with this one.

Some liberal writer for the LA Times first called Hussein The Magic Negro and Rush ran with it you faggots. Funny Funny Shit
