Given that I live in a wide open part of the west, but 100 mph is no big deal; it is a rare trip to town on which I don’t hit 100 at some point and cruising a sedate 90 on the freeway does not attract the attention of the Bears.
Speed itself isn’t the problem; but inattention will get you in real trouble. Not to mention having your equipment in order.
